Actress Disha Pardeshi recounted that Sanjay Dutt got so incredibly immersed in playing the ruthless Afzal Khan ij the midst of Raja shivaji s he genuinely grabbed her throat amidst a dramatic scene.
While filming a sequence where Afzal Khan touches her cheek and then violently restrains her, Dutt became so consumed by the method acting and intensity of the character that he actually choked and restrained her.
According to Pardeshi no sooner the director called “cut,” Sanjay Dutt immediately apologized to her.
Pardeshi appreciated Sanjay Dutt’s utmost professionalism and noting that he was a complete gentleman off-screen, maintaining a calm and focused presence, and would even offer her kind guidance between takes advising, “Beta, this is not how it should be done”
