AR Rahman scripted history as the first musician to perform at the Attari Border during a special tribute event. Held on June 7, 2026, the performance preceded the daily Beating Retreat ceremony and honored the Border Security Force (BSF).
Rahman opened with “Chanda Suraj Lakhon Taare,” followed by film tracks featuring Nilanjana Ghosh, Vedang Raina (“Maskara”), Mohit Chauhan, Pooja Tiwari, and Nargis (“Ishq Mastana”). The evening closed with his iconic patriotic anthem “Maa Tujhe Salaam”.
Imtiaz Ali’s directorial “Main Vaapas Aaunga” is a cross-border love story set amidst the 1947 Partition. The film features Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina, featuring music by Rahman and lyrics by Irshad Kamil.
