PM Modi welcomes US-Iran deal: A path to West Asia Peace

Taking to his X post Prime Minister Modi on June 15, 2026, welcomed the understanding between the United States and Iran emphasising that this breakthrough is vital for ending global economic disruptions, securing maritime trade, and restoring peace in the region.

He noted that the conflict had led to significant economic disruption worldwide and tragic losses of life across multiple countries.
He expressed hope that the pact would firmly secure the freedom of navigation and commerce.
India looks forward to ongoing deliberations to reach a sustainable, final agreement on all remaining issues.

PM Modi also hopes for the immediate restoration of peace and stabilization of global energy markets, assurances that unhindered navigation and commercial shipping remain India’s top priority.
