Director Siddharth P. Malhotra spent a decade developing the script for Ikka, a high-stakes legal drama. After a different project was shelved, Siddharth P. Malhotra pitched the Ikka script to Netflix in September. Sunny Deol immediately agreed to play the lawyer, and the team brought on Akshaye Khanna shortly after.
Look tests were completed in November, and principal photography was entirely wrapped up within a month,
by December.
