Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis slammed a ‘no entry’ sign on Mahayuti doors to end speculation regarding Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP) joining the ruling National Democratic Alliance.
Dismissing rumors fueled by recent meetings between NCP (SP) and BJP leadership, Fadnavis asserted that the coalition is not looking to induct any new parties or break away rival MLAs in Maharashtra.
The assertion was made in New Delhi following a high-level meeting regarding the Narmada river basin projects, effectively closing the door to alliance expansions.
The declaration sparked pushback and accusations of running “rumour-manufacturing factories” from rival camps like the Shiv Sena (UBT), while the NCP (SP) camp has firmly denied any plans to merge into the ruling front.
