Both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha faced repeated disruptions and adjournments until Monday as the political standoff persisted.
Opposition MPs raised slogans and demanded the ouster of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him accountable for exam paper leak controversies and handling of student protests.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju maintained that the government was ready for a full and constructive debate on the floor of the House, appealing to Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other opposition members to drop preconditions like resignations before discussion.
The deadlock unfolded while the administration pushed for stricter legislative measures and draft bills providing for fast-track courts and severe punishment to curb examination paper leaks.
