Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to travel to New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Summit. India will host the high-level international gathering from September 12 to 13, 2026.

The summit will provide a platform for President Pezeshkian to hold direct bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Modi.

As a newer member of BRICS, Iran views the platform as essential for countering unilateral economic sanctions.The leaders will address ongoing security concerns in West Asia. They aim to find collaborative solutions to maintain maritime trade security and regional peace.
The New Delhi summit will bring together heads of state from Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, and other recently admitted nations.Delegates will work toward expanding the use of local currencies in cross-border trade. They will also discuss joint initiatives in technology, climate action, and food security.
