A pioneering wedding planned between two female constables of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Department (name withheld)
has been officially called off following intense family pressure and public scrutiny, department sources confirmed.
The two women, who are stationed at the same local police precinct, originally made headlines after submitting formal leave applications to senior officials, accompanied by their wedding invitation cards. The ceremony was scheduled to take place on August 30 in the temple town of Alandi, using traditional Vedic rituals.

While the historic announcement initially sparked widespread discussion within the police force and the local community, the overwhelming attention and subsequent opposition from their respective families ultimately led the couple to cancel the upcoming nuptials.
