Mukesh Khanna blocks Ranveer’s Shaktimaan

Veteran actor and producer Mukesh Khanna has reiterated his creative opposition to Sony Network’s proposed big-screen adaptation of the iconic television superhero “Shaktimaan”featuring actor Ranveer Singh.
Defending the cultural legacy of India’s first major television superhero, Khanna revealed that he has turned down high-value financial offers worth crores and placed payments on hold. Maintaining that principles outweigh commercial gain, Khanna stressed that the role of
“Shaktimaan” requires an inherent aura of pure positivity and a clean, moral image.

While acknowledging Ranveer Singh’s tremendous energy and acting talent, Khanna remarked that the actor’s intense and mischievous screen presence makes him far better suited to play the iconic antagonist, Tamraj Kilwish, rather than the title hero.
Khanna confirmed that he has temporarily blocked Sony India and international stakeholders from moving forward with the casting choice, emphasizing that creative integrity and the character’s traditional image will govern any future theatrical adaptation.
