Modi Welcomed as ‘Guardian of Blue Horizon’ in Seychelles

Prime Minister Modi described the India-Seychelles camaraderie as “steady, strong and long-lasting” during a three-day state visit to the island nation. He made the remarks at a state dinner hosted by Seychelles President Patrick Herminie, adding that the two countries would “together win the race.”

PM Modi traveled to the archipelagic nation to participate as the Guest of Honour at the golden jubilee celebrations of Seychelles’ National Day, marking 50 years of bilateral relations.
He officially handed over a ‘Made in India’ fast patrol vessel (named Lespwar) to the Seychelles Coast Guard.

Modi reaffirmed that Seychelles is a key maritime partner in India’s regional vision, which encompasses a secure, peaceful, and prosperous Indian Ocean region.
