Veteran actor Piyush Mishra has released a sharp video message challenging Naseeruddin Shah for what he calls selective public commentary. The public spat followed Shah’s appearance at a Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park alongside Abhijeet Dipke.
Mishra questioned why Shah has remained silent on several key events while actively participating in political demonstrations:
Mishra urged Shah to praise Flydubai pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for saving 180 lives during a dangerous mid-air incident.
Mishra called out Shah’s lack of support for students affected by clashes and police action at Lovely Professional University (LPU) as well as earlier exam protests in Jharkhand.
Mishra criticized an instance where he previously asked Shah for help during the Jharkhand agitation, claiming Shah sent a poem instead of practical aid.
The fiery exchange adds to a long history of public disagreements between the two veteran actors regarding the social and political obligations of public figures.
