The Maharashtra government has officially constituted a high-level five-member judicial inquiry commission, led by retired High Court Chief Justice Dilip Bhosale, to investigate the alleged question paper leaks and widespread administrative irregularities within the Maharashtra Public Service Commission recruitment examinations. Following intense demonstrations by civil service aspirants in Pune, the state administration issued formal notifications tasking the independent panel with uncovering the facts surrounding malpractices across multiple competitive examinations, including the recent Drug Inspector Group B test, while expanding the scope to probe the tenures of both serving and
former commission officials.
Senior IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe has been appointed as the secretary of the panel, alongside distinguished members including retired judge P D Naik, former IAS officer Ganesh Patil, and IPS officer Laxmi Gautam, while incumbent chairman Vivek Bhimanwar has proceeded on leave pending the final outcome. Operating with full statutory powers, the committee has been granted a strict sixty-day deadline to thoroughly audit the current examination infrastructure, identify systemic failures, ensure complete transparency, and submit a comprehensive report detailing structural reforms to restore absolute integrity to the state selection process.
