Tanuja-Shomu Mukherjee were a perfect couple in the Indian film industry.
Notedly Tanuja is part of the Mukherjee-Samarth family, having deep roots in Bollywood. Tanuja is best acknowledged for her roles in films like Jewel Thief, Haathi Mere Saathi, and Anubhav. She is the daughter of Shobhna Samarth, a famous actress of the 1940s, and the younger sister of actress Nutan.
Tanuja’s daughters, Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee, also followed in her footsteps to become actresses in Bollywood.
Shomu Mukherjee was a filmmaker, producer, and writer. He belonged to the illustrious Mukherjee family, which has been involved in Indian cinema for several generations. Shomu directed and produced several Bollywood films, including Chhaliya Babu and Fifty Fifty. He married Tanuja in 1973, and they had two daughters, Kajol and Tanisha Mukherjee. Shomu passed away in 2008.
