Actress Kritika Kamra has opened up over her decision to have given a miss to a destination wedding with sports broadcaster Gaurav Kapur and opted for an intimate registry ceremony in Mumbai .
Kritika emphasized that “marriage was the big deal, the marriage was” rather than the spectacle of a 3-4 day destination event.
The couple wanted to avoid being “on a calendar” or having to manage morning/evening rituals.
She went on to state, “she had a blast because they were not hosting, they were not running. There was no one telling them to rush,” allowing them to actually enjoy their ceremony.
The couple wanted a relaxed setting that welcomed everyone, including older family members and children.
Kritika called the wedding as a seamless merging of their existing lives and homes rather than a high-pressure, dramatic spectacle.
The couple, who made their relationship Instagram official in December 2025, celebrated with a simple, personal ceremony at Gaurav’s Mumbai residence.
