Following PM Modi’s call for restraintamid economic pressures, Maharashtra ministers are embracing austerity, with Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai cancelling a family trip to Europe and other officials skipping foreign tours.

Additionally, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale took the Mumbai Metro to work, highlighting efforts to cut fuel consumption.

Following the PM’s appeal, Maharashtra has directed ministers to reduce convoy sizes, opt for virtual meetings, and cancel foreign travel.

Alongside Shambhuraj Desai, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar cancelled his trip to the Cannes Film Festival in France.
