Varanasi” features 30-minutebattle sequence between Ram and Kumbhakarna

S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming magnum opus “Varanasi” is slated for a massive global release in Summer 2027. Recently, the director’s father and acclaimed writer, V. Vijayendra Prasad confirmed that the film will feature a colossal 30-minute battle sequence between Lord Ram and Kumbhakarna from the Ramayana.

The highly anticipated cinematic spectacle centers around Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu as Rudra/Lord Rama, global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in a villainous role as Kumbha. Writer Vijayendra Prasad revealed that the war between Rama and Kumbhakarna will anchor the film.

S.S. Rajamouli has already completed filming this 30-minute mythological episode, stating it left him with goosebumps and will feature a completely new visual experience.
