PM Modi made this declaration during his meeting with the National Security Advisors (NSAs) of the BRICS member states in New Delhi, where he stressed that there is no place for double standards on terrorism and terror financing.
Emphasized that in a changing global landscape, BRICS must collectively address non-traditional threats and the use of emerging technologies by terrorist networks.
Pledged that India’s leadership will advance practical cooperation, support the priorities of the Global South, and contribute to building a safer, more secure, and inclusive world.
Highlighted the need to prevent youth radicalization, combat deepfakes/disinformation, and push for the adoption of the Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) within the UN.
The remarks came at the conclusion of the high-level BRICS security meeting held in New Delhi, where delegates also reviewed the activities of the Joint Working Group on counter terrorism.
Member states extended full support to India’s 2026 BRICS Chairship and its theme of “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.
