During the 20-minute meeting, Banerjee submitted two letters urging the Speaker to hold swift, separate hearings for the individual petitions filed under the Tenth Schedule, which have seen no formal action since their submission on June 19, 2026.
The TMC strongly contested the five-week delay, arguing that the inaction undermines constitutional protocols, while simultaneously objecting to recent, unilateral changes made to parliamentary seating arrangements that favor the breakaway group prior to any official legal ruling.
