Television actor Rupali Ganguly who has now become a household name with her role of the titular character in the daily soap ‘Anupamaa’ has hit the headlines for wrong reasons. The actor recently opened up on being trolled and shamed on the internet.

In Anupama Rupali gets married to businessman Anuj Kapadia, essayed by Gaurav Khanna, and their chemistry is one of the highlight of the daily soap.

However, as per Rupali she receives hate on social media from people for doing romantic scenes with Gaurav, who is younger than her in real life.

Amid an interaction with Media Persons, the 45-year-old Rupali shared that she is aware of Gaurav being four years younger to her in real life, but on the show, both of them are shown to be of the same age.

She also revealed that trolls have been age-shaming and body-shaming her, but she does not let their comments get to her.

In a rather fitting reply to trolls for body shaming her commenting on her wrinkles, Rupali affirms, she does have wrinkles and she feels proud of them. She has earned every wrinkle of her and proud of what she is of today..

On being trolled for romancing Gaurav who is younger than her, Rupali questioned her haters, “is she not doing 100 per cent justice to her role?

Rupali made her television debut with the medical drama series ‘Sanjivani’ in 2002, and since then, there has been no looking back for her.

She tasted overnight fame and success with the portrayal of Monisha in the cult sitcom ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ in 2004.

After 2011, she took a sabbatical from acting to focus on her family, and after a seven-year-long hiatus, she returned to television as Anupamaa.
