Amit Shah visits Kolkata on Bengali New Year’s Day
Meets Mamata Banerjee
Amit Shah, Union Home Minister visits Kolkata on April 14-15. His visit reportedly will mark his presence there on Bengali New Year’s Day and bound to garner attention. This is not because of panchayat polls scheduled in May but the state was a witness to a round of communal flare-ups around Ram Navami on March 30.
Amit Shah will visit the famous Dakshineswar temple on Poila Boishakh.
The political situation remains disturbed in the aftermath of the clashes. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) government has been accused of
putting on the back burner
the Centre’s fact-finding teams from diving to ground zero.
Reportedly, failure of the administration to contain the violence regardless of intelligence inputs and forewarnings from chief minister Mamata Banerjee has raised a question mark.
