KL Rahul gives astounded reaction after hitting winning run
Sadly, KL Rahul despite being on fire as he punished the Aussie bowlers severly, he missed a century. Nevertheless, he pulled the team from a perilous situaton after Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan went without scoring and guided India to a win over Australia in their opening match of the Cricket World Cup 2023 on Sunday. This reminds of Pak’s Javed Miandad who hit a big six in the last ball of a test match against South Africa to lift the cup
Rahul remained unbeaten on 97 off 115 deliveries and was the one who slammed the winning runs for his side. However, his reaction after hitting the final runs of the game has gone viral on social media. India were in deep trouble during their 200-run chase as skipper Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, and Ishan Kishan were all dismissed without scoring a single run.
Rahul and Kohli took the responsibility made a good partnership and laid the foundation for the team’s victory. Both received a standing ovation from the stadium.
In the midst of a wild goose chase of 200, India lost three batsmen, who all failed to score, inside two overs before Kohli (85) and Rahul (97 not out) put on 165.
Victory was secured with 52 balls to spare.
However, credit goes to spinner Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep for their bowling performance and bowl out Australia for 199 in 49.3 overs in the 150th ODI meeting amidst the two cricket giants.
