Pakistani singer Atif Aslam recently performed live at a concert in Dubai.
A video from the show has gone viral on social media. The singer crooned the iconic song ‘Dil Se Re’ from SRK and Manisha Koirala’s 1998 film ‘Dil Se’. It turned out to be a mesmerizing experience for the audience who were left spellbound with his rendition.
Taking to his Instagram account Atif Aslam shared a video from Sunday’s concert in Dubai, shows him delivering a powerful performance on ‘Dil Se’. The AR Rahman composed song was originally sung by Rahman, Annupamaa Krishnaswami, Anuradha Sriram, Febi Mani, and still remains one of the most celebrated tracks even years later.
Atif’s performance to this song picturised on SRK left the audience in awe. Sharing the video, the singer wrote,

No sooner Atif Aslam posted the video, fans flooded the comments section with praises for him. “We want proper version of this,” wrote one fan, while another one commented,
“The energy you brought to the stage was electric. You had the whole audience hooked from start to finish!” “After AR he did the justice to it,” commented another fan, while another netizen disagreed, and wrote, “Not better than A.R Rahman…”
In 2015, Shah Rukh Khan was quoted saying that Atif Aslam was first approached for the song ‘Gerua’ from his film ‘Dilwale’. However, SRK said that he did not have time for him. In an interview with BBC in 2021, Atif said that he had recorded the song and sent it to King Khan’s team but it wasn’t conveyed to the actor.
He then shared a message for Shah Rukh, saying that he would love to sing for the actor any day. Gerua was sung by singers Arijit Singh and Antara Mitra.
