PM Modi lands in France- meets Prez Emmanuel Macron
PM Modi arrived in France on Monday on a two-day visit.
He will co-chair AI summit with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday and also hold bilateral talks to strengthen the strategic partnership with France. From Paris, Modi will travel to the US on the second leg of his two-nation tour.
Modi will attend a dinner hosted by President Macron at the Élysée Palace in honour of visiting Heads of Government and State.
The dinner is also likely to see the attendance by tech CEOs and several other distinguished invitees to the summit.
The event assumes significance in the wake of tech disruption by China’s DeepSeek.
As per IT minister Ashwini Vaishnaw India plans to develop a domestic AI model.
Modi and Macron will also hold discussions in both restricted and delegation formats and address the India-France CEO’s Forum.
On Wednesday, Modi will visit Mazargues War Cemetery, maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in Marseille, to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by Indian soldiers in World War I.

The summit in Paris, the third of its kind, will be attended by world leaders such as US vice president JD Vance and Chinese vice premier Zhang Guoqing and global tech CEOs such as OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Google CEO Sundar Pichai. Besides the launch of an AI Foundation, the summit is expected to focus on collaboration to ensure the safe and trustworthy use of AI.
In a video interview with French news network France24 in Paris, President Macron discussed AI and its global impact, India-France relations, and his views on the US.
