Notwithstanding the fact that more than eight years have passed since the release of Dangal, the biographical sports drama continues to be the highest-grossing Indian film of all time, cementing Aamir Khan as a powerhouse at the box office. But, the past few years have been a challenge for him, with both of his last movies generating widespread negative responses and finally bombing at the box office.
Acknowledged for taking on only one project every few years and dedicating himself fully to it, Aamir recently opened up on how the failures of Thugs of Hindostan and Laal Singh Chaddha impacted on him.
Aamir admits that the debacle of Laal Singh Chaddha, however, hit him the hardest. He further credited his family’s support for helping him cope amidst that difficult time. He was very sad being an very emotional person.
This he shared amidst a conversation. Thugs of Hindostan might have been a weak film. He believes they weren’t able to achieve what they had set out to do.
He shared that filmmaking is a difficult medium; so, sometimes, might end up not being able to make what we want to.
Reflecting on his performance in Laal Singh Chaddha, a remake of the American comedy-drama Forrest Gump (1994), Aamir admitted his performance was a pitch too high and that film relied completely on the lead actor’s performance.
