Sumona Chakravarti says Kapil Sharma Show gave her financial stability

Actress Sumona Chakravarty revealed that her popularity multiplied after she played the role of Kapil Sharma’s wife in the latter’s popular comedy shows.

In a recent interview, Sumona revealed how the show gave her financial stability and mentioning that she was a part of Kapil’s shows for 10 years and is therefore grateful since she could buy a house in Mumbai because of her earnings from the show.

Adding It gave her a lot and yet its been a double-edged sword. The show was a good ten years for her. It is a very long time. She was financially stable as she comes from a very simple middle-class Bengali family. She could afford to buy a house in Mumbai because of the show. She feels very grateful.

Further added Financial freedom for women today is very important.

Talking about the popularity that Kapil Sharma’s shows enjoyed, Sumona added, “It is also the immense love and popularity that the show has given me across the world.”
Sumona shared how the show is also very popular in Thailand and continued by saying, “The show has been dubbed in Thai. She was at a Thai restaurant, and it so happened that her local Indian-Thai friend came to me and said, ‘All the server and host want to take a picture with you.’ They were all Thai. She wondered why, then they showed her the show’s clip. It was ridiculously funny to watch her speaking Thai in the show.”
Sumona Chakravarty, who worked with Kapil Sharma in Comedy Nights With Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show, was not a part of the comedian’s The Great Indian Kapil Show. In 2024, while Sumona was in Romania for Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, a report did the rounds claiming she did not leave The Kapil Sharma Show by choice but was rather not informed about the comedian’s new show, The Great Indian Kapil Show.
