Pooja Hegde is a much talented actress. But never got the right characters to prove her worth in the cut-throat industry.

She had pinned all her hopes on “Retro” for a strong return to South cinema, but was left disappointed as the film proved a debacle and failed to impress critics and movie lovers. Featuring in a lead role in the film directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Retro was much expected to revive Pooja’s fading presence in the Telugu and Tamil industries.

However, the film opened to mixed reviews and underwhelming box office collections and crushed her hopes.

Fans who were eager to see her shine again in a substantial role have been let down. With Retro, Pooja Hegde delivered the seventh flop in a row. Before Retro, big-ticket films like Radhe Shyam, Beast, Acharya, Cirkus, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, and Deva dented her image to a huge extent.

With such massive setbacks in both Bollywood and regional cinema, Pooja’s search for a successful comeback continues.

She is all set to announce her next major project in Tollywood, while Vijay’s Jana Nayagan should act like a saving grace for the star heroine.
