Himanshi wife of Indian Navy Lt Vinay Narwal appeals for peace
Himanshi Narwal, the wife of Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was among the 26 killed in the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, made a heartfelt appeal for peace amid the nationwide outrage.
In a video interview, Himanshi, a PhD scholar from Gurugram, said, the family doesn’t want people going against Muslims or Kashmiris, but need peace and only peace. Of course, want justice.
Her husband Lieutenant Narwal brutally gunned down by the inhumane Pakistan terrorists was accorded full military honours at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, where his coffin was received by the grieving family members, Navy officials, and political leaders, including Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta
While embracing and saluting her husband’s coffin she however broke down. Amidst tears, she added Let his soul rest in peace. He lived a good life. He made us really proud, and we should continue to uphold that pride in every way.
Narwal’s funeral was held on Wednesday evening in his hometown of Karnal, Haryana. His 21-year-old sister Shristi performed the final rites, lighting the pyre as thousands gathered to bid farewell.
