
The Navi Mumbai International Airport inaugurated by PM Modi on Wednesday is rated as India’s largest greenfield airport project and is expected to begin commercial operations
The airport has been built under a public-private partnership between Adani Airport
Holdings and CIDCO.
The 1,160-hectare airport will be India’s first fully digital airport and will handle around 20 million passengers annually with one runway and terminal in the initial phase.
Costing around  ₹19,650 crore for Phase-1, the interiors of the newly-built NMIA have lotus designs that give the airport a unique look with futuristic architectural form.
The state-of-the-art Airport will have facilities like a
pre-booking system for vehicle parking slots, online baggage drop and immigration services.
