Priyadarshan brims with pride at Dhurandhar success

Veteran filmmaker Priyadarshan on Thursday, taking to his Instagram penned a note of praise on Aditya Dhar on the exceptional success of his film Dhurandhar. In fact, he couldn’t conceal his pride as Aditya Dhar his student emerged as his collaborator.

Priyadarshan went on to mention the triumph of the film, featuring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna. For a moment he felt it to be his own victory. He also shared a throwback picture with Aditya Dhar from one of their earlier collaborations. Calling Aditya’s journey rewarding to watch, Priyadarshan noted that there is no greater joy for a mentor than seeing his disciple achieve such remarkable success.

Sharing an image from one of their shoots, Priyadarshan wrote, “There is no greater happiness than watching his disciple rise with such remarkable success. Congratulations Aditya Dhar on Dhurandhar, and heartfelt best wishes for Dhurandhar 2.”
Aditya took to the comment section to respond to his mentor, thanking him for believing in him. They collaborated on Aakrosh and Tezz.
He wrote “My Dearest Priyan Sir… this means more to him than he can ever put into words!! He(Priyadarahan) believed in him when he
(Aditya) was a nobody, and when all he (Aditya) had was conviction and a few written pages. He treated Aditya like an equal, and gave him something far more precious than just work – dignity, trust, and love.
Adding that in an industry where he often learnt what not to do, Priyadarshan taught him exactly what to do, not just as a filmmaker, but as a human being. From writing dialogues for Aakrosh and Tezz to standing here today, every step carries Priyadarshan’s imprint and he will forever be his student first. Thanks for everything, Sir. This success is as much yours as it is mine.”

Aditya’s spy thriller has shattered several box office records ever since its release in theatres on December 5. It has turned out to be as one of the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema. As per the latest report by Sacnilk, Dhurandhar has earned over ₹790.25 crore in India so far.
The film follows covert intelligence operations set against a backdrop of geopolitical and terror events like the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament Attack and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. It also stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera, and R Madhavan.
Dhurandhar is a Jio Studios and B62 Studios presentation produced by Aditya alongside Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar. Its sequel releases in theatres on March 19.
