Actress Ameesha Patel reprimanded Zakir Khan for suggesting Bollywood was jealous of the success of the film Dhurandhar (specifically referencing Dhurandhar 2), telling him to stop “spreading negativity”.
The actress stated that before Dhurandhar, superstars like SRK,
Salman Khan , Sunny Deol, Hrithik Rishanc AJAY etc have given not just 1 but 25 plus mega hits n will continue to do so CHILL-GADAR bahut saalon se sabne already machai hain aur aage bhi machaayenge.”
Comedian Zakir Khan, while hosting, claimed that while everyone was posting congratulatory messages, “the truth is… Dhurandhar has made many people jealous.”
Ameesha Patel responded on social media (X) to correct this narrative, highlighting that legendary superstars have delivered numerous hits prior to this, and that the industry respects the film but should not feel insecure.
Director Siddharth Anand also echoed this sentiment, calling it “derogatory” to suggest the industry was jealous, and noted that the “Juhu-Bandra” industry has been delivering blockbusters for 50 years.
