After a clean sweep in Madhya Pradesh the BJP registered a massive sweep in Gujarat, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh by winning all six Rajya Sabha seats uncontested. This sweep emerged as official following the elapse of the nomination withdrawal deadline. Because no rival candidates or opposition parties entered the fray, elections were unnecessary, and the BJP nominees were declared elected unopposed.
Notedly the Election Commission of India announced elections for four Rajya Sabha seats in Gujarat on June 1. Nominations were accepted until June 8, and four candidates submitted valid nominations. Scrutiny of papers was completed on June 9, and all four nominations were found to be valid. No candidate withdrew, and the number of candidates equaled the number of vacant seats. Therefore, under the rules of Rajya Sabha elections, this election was held unopposed. The newly elected members will replace outgoing Rajya Sabha MPs Ram Mokaria, Narhari Amin, Ramilaben Bara, and Shaktisinh Gohil. His terms expires on June 21.
