Canada’s historic first-ever FIFA World Cup campaign officially kicked off on Friday at Toronto’s BMO Field, introduced by a vibrant opening ceremony.

The spectacular pre-match event was headlined by global Bollywood icon Nora Fatehi, who thrilled the crowd with her high-energy performance of the official anthem, “Siir Siir”.

Co-hosts Canada then took the pitch against Bosnia and Herzegovina, a team that punched their ticket to the tournament by upsetting European heavyweights Italy.
