Aziz Mirza and SRK shared Bollywood’s most cherished creative camaraderie

Veteran filmmaker Aziz Mirza first spotted Shah Rukh Khan on television, casting him in the 1989 series ” Circus” before giving him his major Bollywood breakthrough in
” Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman”.
Their close-knit professional partnership shaped Shah Rukh’s early career and led to massive box-office hits like
“Chalte Chalte”.

Their creative dynamic was defined by mutual respect, with the director shaping Shah Rukh’s relentless work ethic and deep understanding of character.

Following Shah Rukh Khan’s transition to films, the duo formed a production company called Iskra (with Kundan Shah) and later co-founded the production house Dreamz Unlimited with Juhi Chawla in 1999. Under this banner, they produced and collaborated on major projects like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani which hit the theatres in 2000. They continued their creative streak with the hit romantic comedy”Yes Boss’and
Aziz Mirza’s directorial ‘Chalte Chalte featuring Shah Rukh Khan.

Their bond transcended the screen, with Aziz Mirza famously offering comfort to Khan’s family during deeply emotional personal losses early in the actor’s career.
Notwithstanding their success, the duo took diverging creative paths in the late 2000s. Mirza has since stepped away from the active spotlight, keeping a low profile and respecting Khan’s busy schedule in the industry.
