Richa Chadha slams “Brain-Dead” trolls for Bullying Dia Mirza’s 5-year-old son over plastic row

Actress Richa Chadha strongly defended actress Dia Mirza online following critics accusation of Dia’s 5-year-old son of “entitled arrogance” for schooling a coconut delivery vendor over single-use plastic.

In response to the heavy backlash, Richa slammed the trolls as “brain-dead” and questioned the relentless bullying of both an actor’s mental health and a child. The controversy began when Dia shared an anecdote on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast. She recounted how her young son, Avyaan, put his hands on his hips and told the coconut delivery agent that plastic wasn’t allowed in their home, demanding the vendor take the plastic bags and straws back. While Soha Ali Khan praised the child’s conviction, many social media users heavily criticized the anecdote, calling it tone-deaf and a sign of entitled arrogance.

Coming to Dia’s rescue on social media, Richa posted a detailed note highlighting Dia’s genuine eco-friendly efforts, including her work in ecological restoration. Dismissing the critics, Richa pointed out how bizarre it is that “y’all wonder why actors don’t speak up” and condemned the harassment, emphasizing that trolls will “bully a 5-year-old” simply for being an actor.
