SS Rajamouli’s directorial “RRR” to re-release during Oscar weekend in March
Ahead of the 95th Oscar results
on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood,
SS Rajamouli’s directorial “RRR” will be re-releasing in a few selected theatres across the Telugu states amid the Oscar weekend.
Notably, “RRR” is in the Oscar nominations list under the ‘Best Original Song category’ for Naatu Naatu
Reportedly, the makers are looking for the list of its theatres, language versions and timings for its re-release.
‘RRR’ also stars Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. It centres around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, their fictional friendship and their fight against the British Raj.
For those unversed, ‘RRR’ has found a spot for itself in the Music (Original Song) category for the chartbuster ‘Naatu Naatu’. With this, it has become the first Indian song to be shortlisted for Oscars.

Set in the 1920s, the plot showcases the undocumented period in their lives when both the revolutionaries chose to go into obscurity prior to the commencement of the fight for their country.
Meanwhile, the 95th Academy Awards will be held on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The nominations voting ran from January 12 to 17, followed by the announcement of the nominations on January 24.
