Rema Lahiri and Rego B appear as Chief Guest at Indian Idol 13 50th Episode on Saturday 25 Feb
Bappi Lahiri’s Daughter Rema
and his grandson Rego B known as Disco King appeared as Celebrity Guest at the singing reality show, ‘Indian Idol 13’ on 25 February for the 50th Special episode of ‘Celebrating Bappi Da’.
The highlight of the 50th episode was that It was contestant , Debosmita Roy presented gifts to the judges and the other contestants.
Rema remembered her father by celebrating His composition ‘Pyar Kabhi Kam Nahi Karna’
from the 1989 film ‘Prem Pratigyaa’ that featured Mithun Chakraborty and Madhuri Dixit
and talked about how he composed his tracks.
Rema enjoyed the performances by contestants on the show and praised Bidipta Chakraborty for her beautiful voice and melodious rendition of the songs ‘Pyar Kabhi Kam Nahi Karna’ and ‘Jawaani Jaaneman’.
Rema went down memory lane and recalled her father, Bappi Lahiri, and said: “The song selection is fantastic. Her father had composed ‘Pyar Kabhi Kam Nahi Karna’ for Mithun Da. It was such a romantic and melodious song, that her father sang it for Mithun Da. It sounded so well, on screen, it was so in sync that it became the epic song of all time. Even ‘Jawani Jaaneman’, Bidipta rendered it flawlessly, though it was a difficult song and she sang it with expression.
Bappi Lahiri’s most famous songs have been from ‘Raat Baaki’, ‘Bambai Se Aaya Mera Dost’ to ‘Jawani Jaaneman’. The list is huge. His tracks will keep echoing in our ears forever.
The top 8 contestants Rishi Singh from Ayodhya, Bidipta Chakraborty, Debosmita Roy, Senjuti Das, Sonakshi Kar from Kolkata, Chirag Kotwal from Jammu, Navdeep Wadali from Amritsar, Shivam Singh amazed the judges and guests and dedicated their performances to the ace singer and composer.
