Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray- “All places of worship will reopen for devotees from the first day of Navaratri”
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, “All places of worship will reopen for devotees from the first day of Navaratri, i.e., 7th October 2021, while observing all COVID safety protocols”. This move has been welcomed by all.

Earlier the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held ‘Shankhanaad and Ghantanaad’ protests across the state demanding reopening of temples and other places of worship. Key state unit leaders participated in the protest and threatened to forcefully open places of worship , if their demand was not met.
Some were skeptical, they pointed Sholapur incident, where Schools was started , when school started 613 students test covid positive. They were afraid if the Covid surge hits again. Many sections wanted Schools, Theaters
The CM- uddhav Thackeray said, “although daily COVID-19 cases are showing a declining trend, everybody should take care and follow COVID-19 protocols. While religious places are going to be opened, people still need to wear face masks, social distancing and use hand sanitizers. The management of religious places will be responsible for implementation of such measures.
Overall the decision has been lauded by the majority of the people of the State.
