Jitendra Awhad: Mumbra pattern of communal harmony should be followed over Maharashtra
Sr NCP Leader and Housing Minister Dr Jitendra Awhad said, “Improper incidents took place in some places in Maharashtra. But in the city of Mumbra, where some people are constantly spreading lies, not a single incident has taken place. Bandh took place and he passed peacefully. This ‘Mumbra pattern’ of harmony of local leadership should go all over Maharashtra!.
indefinite curfew was imposed in Maharashtra’s Amravati city on Saturday after internet services were blocked for three days, due to violence during a bandh allegedly called by the BJP. A mob that managed to overpower police damaged shops and property in areas like Rajkamal Chowk and Gandhi Chowk, where the violence first erupted.
Supporters of the BJP and other right wing outfits were marching against pelting of stones at rallies held by Muslim organisations to protest communal violence in Tripura, across the state on Friday.
Various places in Amravati, Nanded, Malegaon (Nashik), Washim and Yavatmal in Maharashtra had on Friday witnessed stone-pelting during rallies taken out by some Muslim organisations protesting against the purported communal violence in Tripura.
