The BJP in Mumbai and Maharashtra had planned a movement to highlight the failures of MVA Govt in Housing after Diwali. BJP had planned morchas to make SRA cut-off date to 2011, Use of PM fund to reduce the cost of structure to 7.5 lakhs, PM plan “House for all”.

Dr Jitendra Awhad – Housing Minister , Just before Diwali announced Diwali Bonus to SRA beneficiaries. He announced cut off date of 2011, regularization of “hutments” even after 2011 for a mere Rs 2.5 lakhs. The most important decison was, SRA tenements can be sold in five years after expulsion.

One of the most hard-working and enterprising Ministers in the MVA govt. Who has been pushing housing reforms. The biggest decision for Housing- recently has been – “On humanitarian grounds #MHADA will buy out Mafatlal Engineering in Kalwa Thane from the court If the things go right it will be the biggest housing project which will have 29000 houses.” said Dr Jitendra Awhad

Dr Jitendra Awhad- Housing Minister in MVA Govt has announced 60 reforms in Housing sector in Maharashtra- we pen down 10 of the 60 decisions

Decision no. 01 – A separate cell has been set up by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority for the management of flats for project victims. Created under supervision. This room will be used by the project affected people and it will be convenient to manage their flats.

Decision no. 02- Slum Rehabilitation Authority has set up a quality control room to check the quality of construction of rehabilitation buildings This will help in monitoring the quality of the building and the citizens will get houses with quality construction.

Decision – 03 – In case of schemes which are not profitable due to remote areas / other reasons and the sales component mat- FSI index cannot be used on site, it will be decided to adopt a policy of separate transferable development rights.

Decision – 04-  In order for the developer to get financial assistance from the bank, the plot of sale unit had to be held free from encumbrance. This was demanded by many developers.

Decision – 05 – For the convenience of the developers, it was decided to enter into an “Agreement to Lease” agreement after the letter of intent.

Decision – 06 – If the rehabilitation building is not completed within the stipulated time by the developer, the issue of deduction in the carpet area index for the sales component of that developer is under consideration.

Decision – 07 – The Slum Rehabilitation Authority will develop a new computer system, Auto Annexure-II, to expedite the issuance of Certified Appendix-2.

Decision – 08-  The issue of land acquisition and declaration of slums is being heard and decisions are being taken in a timely manner.

Decision – 09 – The society and the developer have been given notice and hearings on 533 schemes which have been closed for a period of 5 years or more.

Decision – 10-  Ineligible hut holders will be provided only one appeal by cancelling the existing provision of two appeals.
