SonyLIV deletes Crime Patrol episode ‘based’ on Shraddha Walkar murder case
News comes to the fore that
popular streaming app SonyLIV has axed the recent controversial episode,the audience claimed was on the gruesome Shraddha Walkar murder case.
This comes following the actor’s resemblance to Shraddha Anna shown to be a Christian woman named Anna in the episode.while her killer was shown to be a devout Hindu Mihir.
Meanwhile, the makers of the show faced flak as the character allegedly based on the accused Aftab Poonawalla, was named Mihir in the episode.
The actress who resembled Shraddha was shown to be a Christian woman named Anna in the episode.
As soon as the chatter about the episode spread on social media, netizens trended #BoycottSonyLIV and slammed the makers for changing using the murder case as a story for the show, and even changing the religions of the victim and the accused.
Reportedly there were severe backlash in the post on social media, due to which the app have deleted the episode.
The link of the episode now takes viewers to a blank page with the text, “No content found”.
The particular episode, which was numbered 212, has also been removed from the full list of ‘Crime Patrol’ episodes on the app.
Aired last week, the ‘Crime Patrol’ episode showed Shraddha as a Christian girl named Anna Fernandes, while her live-in partner and killer was depicted as a Hindu boy named Mihir.
In the episode, the duo was seen getting married at a temple and the character Mihir was shown to be a devout Hindu.
