News comes to the fore that Ex-IPL chairman Lalit Modi has named his son Ruchir Modi as
his successor
According to Lalit Modi he took the decision following discussions with his daughter, Allya Modi.
Lalit adds that in light of what he has reeled through, he feels it’s time to retire and move on and groom his kids. Everything goes to them from now on.
Lalit, through a letter embodies elaborates that post his wife Minal Modi’s passing away the LKM Branch of KKMFT comprises of himself and his two children Ruchir Modi and Allya Modi as the beneficiaries of KKMFT.
Adding that the the present litigation with his mother and his sister, is tedious, strenuous and has gone on for long.
Notwithstanding several rounds of discussion for settlement, no end comes in sight. It has caused and continues to cause him immense distress. He has discussed this with his daughter and she and he are of the opinion that he should hand over control of the affairs of the LKM family and its beneficial interest in the Trust to his son Ruchir Modi.
In a social media post, a few days back, Lalit Modi had revealed that he is on 24×7 oxygen support after testing positive for Covid last week. That he contracted Covid twice in two weeks and has “deep pneumonia.”
Following three weeks in confinement with a double Covid in 2 weeks, accompanied by influenza and deep pneumonia, and post trying many a times to leave, finally, he landed via air ambulance accompanied by two doctors and superstar, super efficient son, who did so much for him back in London.
