Actor-Casting Director Aarti Mittal arrested over sex racket case
Actor and casting director Aarti Mittal has reportedly been arrested by Mumbai police on allegations of running a sex racket. Her modus operandi is to lure models from the film industry to work as sex workers in return for money.
It is a known fact that aspirants for glamour and stardom often fall into the wrong hands of either casting couch or casting directors little realising that they are being cheated. Not all the casting couch or casting directors are honest in their profession. Some of them use their sweet tongue to gain confidence in them from the aspirants and struggling actors.
Even Models who aspire to become actors approach such casting couch or casting directors sans realising they are into wrong hands and it is only when they come to know they are cheated they realise but becomes too late.
A similar case came to the notice of Mumbai police where young models while trying their luck in the industry were lured into sex work in exchange for a huge amount of money and the one luring them was allegedly none other than their fellow artist, casting director and actor Aarti Mittal, who they met on the set of certain modelling projects.
Aarti Mittal has been into the industry for quite some time now. She had worked on shows like Apnapan: Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan and was even reportedly part of an upcoming movie starring R Madhavan. She worked as a model for many advertisements and that’s allegedly where she met up with struggling models and offered them to work as sex workers.
She offered them an amount they couldn’t deny and that’s how she has been reportedly ‘supplying’ young models to customers. The incident of this sex racket was first reported to Inspector Manoj Sutar of Mumbai police who decided to devise a plan to find the truth about the case.
Reportedly, Inspector Sutar got in touch with the 27-year-old actor posing as a customer.
He asked her to send over two girls for his two friends for which Mittal demanded 60,000 rupees from him.
Mittal allegedly sent the pictures of the girls to Sutar once the money exchange was confirmed. She gave him the option of either visiting a Goregaon or Juhu hotel where his friends will meet the girls in the pictures. Sutar chose the Goregaon hotel, booked two rooms and sent over two police officers posing as his friends and customers. Upon reaching the hotel, they met Mittal who came along with the two girls and handed the two men contraceptives.
The entire incident was caught on CCTV and the police team apprehended Mittal red-handed and raided the entire hotel.
The police took statements from the models and they alleged that Aarti Mittal had lured them into sex work in exchange for 15,000 rupees. The two of them were sent to a rehabilitation centre while Mittal has been since arrested. Monday.
Meanwhile, the police are currently investigating the matter to find more connections and details.
