Yesterday the Film Fraternity remembered Vinod Khanna on his birth anniversary on 27 April. Undoubtedly, Vinod was one of the finest actors of his time, but sadly the cruel hands of death snatched him away on April 27, 2017. He shut his eyes forever after his prolonged battle with cancer an incurable disease.

After accomplishing a huge success within a short span of time, the actor gave it up to embrace Osho Rajneesh.

It was following the demise of m his mother in 1982, Vinod felt an emotional vaccuum and went to his spiritual guru Osho Rajneesh.

Talking about Osho’s influence over his father’s life, Vinod’s son Akshaye Khanna had once mentioned to a daily news paper mo not only leave his but to take ‘sanyas’ (renunciation) is a big deal. Sanyas means giving up your life in totality — family is only a part of it. It’s a life-changing decision, which he felt that he needed to take at the time.

Before his death, in an interaction with the media, Vinod affirmed that as a five-year-old, it wasn’t possible for him to understand it. One doesn’t look at it like that at five. He made it clear that Osho had nothing to do with his thoughts on why his dad wasn’t there. That came much later

Decisively after a five year long spiritual life Vinod Khanna made a comeback back only to ensure his financial stability.

Insaaf and Satyamev Jayate are some of the blockbusters he delivered after his comeback.
As an actor he was par excellence. In some of the films he superceded his co-star Amitabh Bachchan. Had he not given up and embrace Osho, he would have been a super star of his time.
