Eros Theatre, the iconic luxurious cinema hall in Mumbai
is nestled in a busy lane in Churchgate, built in 1938.
Cinema lovers and or cinegoers are doleful over their favourite Theatre being razed.
Infact Mumbai (earlier Bombay) is home to many iconic single screens. These single screens are a witness to the biggest of premieres in yesteryears and are part of every cinema-goer’s memory. Over the years, with multiplexes superceding single screen businesses, many, including Chandan Cinema, Imperial Cinema, Royal Cinema, Novelty Cinema, Taj Talkies, faced shut down.
The single screen theatre stopped screening films in 2017. The building is to be remodeled into a mall.
