Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh recalls Manmohan Desai’s comparison of Amitabh Bachchan to Haley’s Comet
It’s a known fact, that big names has always dominated the Hindi film industry
Some have even gone ahead and accomplished the status of being superstars known not just across the country but also across the globe. Be it for this acting style, performances or general all round charisma, the industry has always had their share of superstars.
Recently in conversation with a Bollywood Magazine, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh,
reminisced a statement made by the late Manmohan Desai on veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, a sentence that stands true.
Amid the the conversation, while talking on the history of superstars in the film industry, Taran mentioned the late Rajesh Khanna whose reign was cut short by the ‘Angry Young Man’ Amitabh Bachchan. Recalling his conversation, as per Taran, Rajesh Khanna, did have a good run, but it was not long. This was because of the new age ‘Angry Young Man’ and who is still in the industry, Amitabh Bachchan. The late Manmohan Desai had said to me, ‘Amitabh Bachchan is like Haley’s comet, which strikes once in 70 years’, a star like him comes very rarely.
Hearing the late Manmohan Desai’s description of Amitabh Bachchan, we can’t help but accept it. In fact, the mega star who is still going strong has today become one of the most revered and notable names in the industry.
