Plans are afoot by the CBI to record the statement of actor Shah Rukh Khan, his son Aryan Khan and manager Pooja Dadlani in extortion and bribery case lodged against Sameer Wankhede

This is the latest updates that has emerged in the Central Bureau of Investigation’s case(CBI) of extortion and bribery lodged against the former Mumbai zonal director Sameer Wankhede by the Khans.

The statement is expected to be recorded in the coming days. According to CBI, Wankhede and others accused had allegedly demanded Rs 25 crore bribe from actor Shah Rukh Khan for not framing his son Aryan Khan following the alleged seizure of drugs from a cruise ship.

Whereas the Narcotics Control Bureau vigilance report reveals that 25 crore rupees were demanded from Shah Rukh Khan to release his son Aryan. Later the deal was settled for
Rs 18 crore. An amount of 50 lakh rupees were taken as the first installment. The CBI questioned Sam D’Souza, a private individual, who was also involved in the alleged extortion case, on June 20.

The Federal Probe Avency summoned D’Souza to join the investigation. On June 20, he reached the CBI headquarters with his lawyers. A source reveals that today, Wednesday, 21 June, at 10.30 am CBI issued a notice summoning him for questioning at the CBI headquarters in Delhi.

Earlier this month, the Bombay High Court had extended Wankhede’s prevention from arrest for another two weeks. The High Court had listed the next hearing in the case on June 23.

While Sameer Wankhede had filed the plea to quash the case registered by the CBI against him, the central investigating agency appealed to the court to remove the protection he presently enjoys from being arrested.

The CBI pleaded to the court that there are very ‘serious’ and ‘sensitive’ allegations of bribery against Wankhede and hence his relief from arrest should be denied. On the other hand, Sameer Wankhede’s lawyer sought time from the court to amend the petition.

It is learnt thatWankhede informed Mumbai Police that he was receiving threats through fake Twitter account in the name of gangster Dawood Ibrahim. Two years ago, Wankhede headlined for arresting Aryan Khan in the Cordelia cruise drug bust.
