BJP finalises Rajasthan yatra Vasundhara Raje’s imprint displays on poll strategy
After dawdling, BJP has ultimately determined to launch Parivartan Yatras in the run-up to the Rajasthan assembly election. Nevertheless, in a way different from the two led by Vasundhara Raje with great success in 2003 and 2013.
Commemcing from September 2, for four consecutive days, the party’s national leaders will launch one yatra each in the state. These will kick-off from different corners of Rajasthan and cover large sections of the state in 18-20 days. This’ll see the participation by state BJP leaders.
With this, given the time constraints, the BJP has put away its proven strategy of holding one consolidated yatra before elections.
The party is also wavering on how two-time chief minister Raje is to be projected in the election campaign. The anti-Raje camp in the state BJP has been pushing for projecting a collective leadership to the electorate pinning hopes that this will keep the window of opportunity open for several chief ministerial contenders.
