Notably, the 87-year old National Hindu Restaurant nestled in South Bombay’s Ballard Estate, still continues to be favourite among politicians, customs and narcotics officials.
The restaurant’s South Indian cuisine is very relishing and though hands changed, yet the quality is the same. And that’s precisely why it’s the favourite.
Notedly, Over the years, the restaurant has seen many hands change including that of a restaurateur in the same neighbourhood when the founder passed away at a young age, leaving behind a wife and three young sons.
The restaurant was established in 1936 by Kodi Narahari Kini, a farmer who migrated to Bombay (Mumbai later) from Kodi, a village near Dakshina Kannada, about 60 km from Udupi.
Serving the top bosses in Ballard Estate its popular butter-slathered bun maska and crispy patti samosa with a generous filling of potato, onion and coconut is the 87-year-old National Hindu Restaurant.
