Pooja Bhatt voices over spate of robberies in Mumbai’s Bandra, cops respond
After actress Pooja Bhatt’s complaint over spate of thefts in the city’s upscale Bandra neighbourhood, the Bandra Police have taken a serious note of it.
As per a resident of Bandra West, several robberies have taken place in the neighbourhood over the last few weeks and the robbers, seemed well-informed about which places to target often choosing the houses of senior citizens and buildings with no security.
As per Pooja, the thefts are carried out with impunity, said noting that the thieves do not wear masks to hide their identity and do not seem to be discouraged by CCTV cameras.
Pooja has requested for an increased police patrolling in the area. The robberies are committed on Veronica, Rebello, St Roque Road in the last few days,” she wrote on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). She further added that the perpetuators seem informed & appear brazen with no fear of CC TV cameras.
Senior citizens/buildings with no security targeted. Need police patrolling in the vicinity.”
The official handle of Mumbai Police responded to the post saying Bandra Police Station had been informed.
Pooja Bhatt thanks the cops for their swift response and “action taken” in a follow-up tweet.
She also raised alarm over a group of men who gather each evening opposite the Supari Talao playground, indicating a possible connection between them and the spate of robberies.
Meanwhile Pooja mentions that , the men are not from the area but have been spending the night there for the last seven to eight months.
