News comes as a rude and profound shock on the sad passing away of Vivek Shrivastava, director, Business Development Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail in Bengaluru on Monday morning.

Shrivastava, aged around 40, apparently seems to have breathed his last of heart attack. He is survived by young daughter and wife.

Rehan Huck, Vice-President, DLF Malls and friend of Shrivastava, says he was
devastated by the news as he had spoken to him on Sunday.

He added that Srivastava was an extremely bright retail professional and had carved a niche for himself and left mark in the retail trade. He was loved by the people who knew him.

Shrivastava had been associated with ABFRL for about one and a half years and earlier, he spearheaded business development in India for the Italian fashion brand Benetton Group. His association has also been with industry leaders Arvind Ltd. and Titan Company Ltd.

It’s profoundly shocking news is for the retail industry of a bright rising star. In the IMAGES Retail magazine in March 2023 for a feature on him he had said that
he wanted to become the CEO of a company in the next five years.

He had also mentionec that he wanted to uplift and transform the life of children of sex-workers and to work towards improving illiteracy in the country.

Sources revealed that Shrivastava, who had over 20 years of experience, considered Vishak Kumar, CEO-Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, ABFRL his role model in the industry.

His life mantra was,
“One must always strive for excellence and never be satisfied with the second best.”

Shrivastava will be remembered with fondness and respect by the industry.
